Titicaca Lake & Isla del Sol

Day 1


We depart from our hotel at about 8am and drive 150 kilometers for about 3 and a half hours to Copacabana with nice views of the Cordillera Real (Real Mountain Range) in the Southamerican Altiplano. In the afternoon we will navigate to Isla del Sol (Sun Island) for about one hour by speed boat in the blue waters of Titicaca Lake; once we get to the southern part of the island we will walk to Archeological remains of Pilkokaina, a religious temple of the Incas and after that we will head to the Youth Source where you can get purified after taking Sacred water. We will make it to our lodge with the sunset where we have really nice views of the Titikaka lake on earth and its sunset.

Day 2


After breakfast we have a gentle hike to the north part of the Island for about 2 and a half hours with great views of the Cordillera Real Mountains of the Andes and islands around the Isla del Sol as we reach the Chinkana Archaeological complex well-known as the Labyrinth or “Sacred Rock” where according to myths and legends the Star Sun was born and the cradle of the Inca empire with Manco Kapac and Ocllo, founders of this Empire and Cusco. After our short visit we will descend to Challapampa where we will enjoy a typical lunch and return to Copacabana for overnight at a hotel in town.

Day 3


Breakfast and short walk to Cathedral of Copacabana, souvenirs shopping and drive to La Paz after breakfast.
